With a growing demand for Dynamics 365 Business Central across the world, Microsoft has announced some additional country availability for Business Central. This is a massive step forward in the availability of the class-leading SME ERP solutions from Microsoft.
Since 2018 when Microsoft released Business Central to a few selected countries in MEA, there has been a steady wave of customers moving from its predecessor, NAV, to start enjoying all the benefits that have been made available with Business Central in the Microsoft Cloud. With every passing day, we at Cloudmania, have been speaking to our partners answering their questions about the Microsoft Cloud solutions and helping plan the move from the On-Premise environments to the more sustainable and less stressful Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings.
Unfortunately, the general availability of Business Central has not been available to all African countries since its initial release. Microsoft makes Business Central available to additional countries as part of its Release Waves. The next one is the 2023 Release Wave 1.
Countries included in the next release wave for Microsoft Business Central
- Ethiopia
- Ghana
- Madagascar
- Malawi
- Mozambique
- Namibia
- São Tomé & Principe
- Senegal
- Tanzania
- Uganda
- Zambia
As a partner, you might be asking, where will the data for these Business Central instances be residing? Microsoft is releasing Business Central to other African countries from the Johannesburg North Datacenter. This is key to consider when talking to your customers. If data residency is of critical importance and data has to reside within the country’s borders, then you would need to lean the discussion more towards an on-premise installation of Business Central. Business Central SaaS licenses available through CSP come with Dual Use Rights which allows you to choose either a cloud or on-premise deployment.
So, when is this going to be available? Microsoft is making the Public Preview available May 2023, and the General Availability will be in June 2023. Please note that dates are subject to change, and it is possible that at the time of release, all functionality might not be available.
